Luxshare-ICT, an Apple partner based in China, is responsible for manufacturing AirPods Pro at a factory located in Bac Giang. Not long after that, another Apple partner, Goertek, also started manufacturing AirPods in Vietnam. According to Nikkei Asia, Apple has started testing AirPods production in Vietnam from the second half of 2019.

Currently, all three AirPods lines are AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max are being manufactured in Vietnam. So, naturally, the AirPods 3, just announced by Apple a few weeks ago, are also manufactured in Vietnam .However, some Chinese users are complaining that the AirPods made in Vietnam are of poorer quality than the ones made in China .Specifically, these people say that the AirPods 3 have problems with finishing, such as the plastic part or the glue coming off. Even a few say that these problems have caused their ears to hurt when worn. This has forced Apple to change plans and produce AirPods 3 in China in the early stages.

Foxconn was expected to produce MacBooks and iPads in Vietnam in 2021, but this plan has been shelved.
